Beddell House is a grade II listed building set within a secluded valley just 2 miles south east of Durham City centre. The 60-bed residential care home required significant renovation works to ensure the building was more accessible to residents.
Edwards Architecture were tasked with improving the existing facilities and create a more dementia friendly environment to give residents greater independence. Beddell House was refurbished whilst preserving the original fabric and character of the building. The scheme has recently been shortlisted for the CENE and RICS heritage awards.
