We are delighted to announce that Longhirst Hall has been warded Highly Commended in the Residential category at this year’s North East RICS Social Awards! We are proud that our work has been recognised and are thankful to Dere Street Homes for getting Edwards Architecture involved in such a fantastic project.
Longhirst Hall is considered as one of architect John Dobson’s finest buildings. Set amongst its own grounds, the hall was built for a local landowner at the time. Prior to Dere Street purchasing Longhirst Hall in early 2016 and transforming the hall into 4 spectacular homes, the building had already been restored and converted into a country house hotel.
Dere Street Homes appointed Edwards Architecture to restore and convert both the existing Grade II listed Hall and surrounding buildings. To ensure these buildings retained as much history and character as possible, we used our expertise for the project.
